Mail Train
This is the 2nd engine with the #2 of the Surry, Sussex & Southampton Railway, which served as the mail train for about 20 years . This is a pen and ink stipple drawing.

#2 served as the motive power for the mail train which consisted of 2 coaches one of which was a combined coach. As need arose, it also pulled a mixed train of flats, box cards, gondolas & passenger equipment on the Surry, Sussex and Southampton Railway. This was a 3' narrow gage railway with passenger service from Scotland Wharf on the James River to Dory Virginia.
